New omic experimental technologies:
Microfluidics (Runxuan: small devices that can carry out experiments and a series of procedures staring with small volumes of liquid.)
High-throughput sequencing (454 technology, Single-molecule sequencing, ...)
Fourier transform / Orbitrap mass spectrometer
Quantitative Trait Locus mapping Benno: This is not an experimental technology, but nonetheless a very fruitful concept used in conjunction with new large-scale technologies.
Live cell arrays (Benno: We are going to use this technology in the BaSysBio project, and fascinating work like this has already been published.)
